I'm a developer passionate about crafting accessible, pixel-perfect user interfaces that blend thoughtful design with robust engineering. My favorite work lies at the intersection of design and development, creating experiences that not only look great but are meticulously built for performance and usability.
Currently, I'm a Senior Software Engineer at Nationwide, specializing in IT Innovation. I incorporate new technologies into the enterprise by developing proof of concept web applications and utilizing full DevOps workflows within AWS.
In the past, I've had the opportunity to develop software across a variety of settings — from healthcare automation at Olive to enterprise financial applications at Nationwide. I'm also a hobbyist game developer working with Unity, blending my love of code with creative projects.

Projects
You're looking at it! Personal portfolio built with Next.js featuring a full DevOps pipeline deploying to AWS, GitHub Actions for CI/CD, and AWS CDK for infrastructure as code. I used v0 from Vercel to quickly iterate on layouts, but thoroughly reviewed and refined everything myself. As our field becomes increasingly AI-driven, I want to show I can leverage modern tools to work faster and smarter—not as a substitute for understanding the fundamentals.
A multiplayer web-based game built with Next.js, AWS CDK, Lambda, API Gateway and WebSockets. Players can match against each other in real-time. I bit off more than I could chew with this project, but I learned a lot about AWS and web development in the process. I definitely needed help to achieve this vision, so this project is being discontinued and reimagined with a partner in the Godot Engine as an entirely new game in the tactics-rpg genre.
My first completed personal project - a Unity 2D game where you control 2 ants simultaneously to protect the eggs of your anthill from invading wasps. Published on Google Play Store initially, but with no downloads I have since removed it.
This was a response to our awful spaghetti code we wrote in making "Crystal Campaign". I had a gut feeling that the code we wrote there could be made much simpler, so I wrote this; a simple 2D platformer demo built with Unity to learn the StateMachine architecture pattern. I learned that one of the biggest strengths of a game engine is its animator and how we can write events around all the frames of animation to perform certain actions. I utilized Unity's animator state machine to drive all the logic of state transitions and animations, while my state machine in code could setup certain properties on the player OnEnter, OnExit, and OnUpdate. My college professor actually asked me to present this project to a class of undergrads who were taking the game development class the semester after I did! So I got to give a 1.5 hour long lecture to a class of 20+ students!
First Unity 3D project created as part of a capstone project at BGSU. Collaborated with 2 other developers and 2 artists to build an adventure game.
